Promotional Printed Flags: Your FAQs – Answered

If you’re working the events scene, grabbing the attention of potential customers with promotional products is vital to the success of your business. But you’ve got less time than you might think…

In fact, recent research suggests that people make a decision within only eight seconds!

Naturally, there’s a lot of conversation about this time-frame, but one thing that’s always agreed upon is that in this modern day, attention spans have started to become much shorter, and people want instant gratification and quick fixes. So, what does that mean for your business?

It means that when you’ve got potential customers scouring the scene before them, your brand needs to pop out and grab their attention—FAST. This is where we come in…

Grab attention with promotional flags

As the experts in advertising your brand from a distance, Surf & Turf’s promotional flags are the easy way to showcase your business, even in a busy, crowded marketplace, where you’re fighting to steal the attention from competitors.

Here’s why promotional flags are so popular:

  • They’re eye-catching in a breeze—so bad weather isn’t bad for business.

  • They’re super-lightweight and portable, making them ideal for transporting to different events.

  • They’re affordable, and typically cost less than other forms of signage.

We’ve answered your most frequently asked flag questions, so you can choose the perfect promotional flags for your business.

Q: What are the different types of promotional flag?

A: There are three main styles of promotional flag to choose from:

  1. Feather, Teardrop and Portrait Flags

It’s a personal design choice here. Feather Flags (sometimes known as beach flags or sail flags) are an excellent way of standing out from the crowd at any outdoor or indoor event.

Teardrop Flags (sometimes called teardrop banners or bike flags) are another firm favourite, and while they can be used for anything, they’re particularly popular at motorsport events…

Portrait Flags get a lot of different names, too (sometimes called portrait banners, square flags, or rectangular flags), and are a popular choice for indoor exhibitions and conferences.

All of our FeatherTeardrop and Portrait Flags sit on a base unit, and can be easily put up in just a couple of minutes, whether on hard surfaces or soft ground, and they’re all available in three sizes.

  1. Canopro Centre Peak Flags

These are a little bit different. Our Canopro Centre Peak Flags have been expertly designed to attach to Surf & Turf’s best-selling Caponpro Elite and Canopro Lite range of shelters.

These shelters have a specialist attachment that enables you to fit the flag on top, so you can be confident your customers will be able to see your location, even from afar.

  1. Giant 5m Outdoor Flags

No one’s going to miss you if you have one of these on display. Easy to use and quick to set up, the Giant 5m Outdoor Flag has a telescopic pole that extends to just over 5m in height, guaranteed to catch the eye of all customers.

But just because they’re big doesn’t mean they’re difficult to move around. The telescopic poles and flags fold down for effortless transportation and storage.

Q: What’s the difference between single and double-sided print?

A: This is an important consideration if you’re printing text onto your flag.

A single-sided print uses a single piece of fabric, and the sublimation dye process means that the ink works through the fabric, so that any colour can be seen on both sides. This results in your print being seen backwards on the reverse—which you might not mind if it’s just an image, but if your printed flag includes text, the words will read backwards, too…

A double-sided print is the answer here. The design uses two pieces of fabric, printed in the same way as single-sided, but then sewn back-to-back with a liner fabric in between, so that your text and images appear identical on both sides of your promotional flag.

Q: Can you help with design?

A: Yes! While we understand your brand artwork may already be firmly established, if you’re still figuring that out, don’t worry—Surf & Turf’s personalised printing service is here to help.

Our fantastic in-house studio team will work with existing artwork or create new artwork just for you, giving you a one-of-a-kind, eye-catching design that can be used across any promotional flags, shelters and banners.
